With over 35 years of experience in industry and academia, Olivier has large-scale expertise in business policy, finance, and law which renders him a valuable addition to the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) Community and its distinguished faculty. He brings extensive overseas academic experience, as well as corporate experience garnered from major banks and companies located in Hong Kong, Japan, and the United States. At AIM, aside from his academic and administrative duties as ZSDM School Head, he is an Associate Professor of Strategy, Corporate Governance, and International Business and serves as C.V. Starr Chair in Corporate Governance.
Olivier is an accomplished scholar who earned a Master of Laws in Common Law Studies from the Georgetown University Law Center, and a Doctorate [PhD.] in Strategy from McGill University.
Before joining AIM, Olivier was Dean of the School of Business and Economics at the Westminster International University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. His prior appointment was as Associate Dean, Director of Global Programs, and Professor of Management at Salisbury University in Maryland, U.S.A. during which he also served as Chief Academic Officer and Chair of the Assurance of Learning Committee. Under his leadership, the Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University was successfully re-accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business [AACSB]. He also served as Associate Academic Director of the Corporate Governance Program at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Olivier was a Fulbright Scholar at the School of Business and Management of Technology at the Belarusian State University in Minsk where he taught strategic management and international case analysis and was awarded the best instructor of the year. A year later, as a Fulbright specialist, he supported the institution in its application for its initial AACSB accreditation.
Prior to his academic career, Olivier was an investment officer at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group, and an investment banker in Hong Kong and Japan. As for his legal practice, he is a licensed attorney in the State of New York and an arbitrator at the Financial Regulatory Authority Inc. (FINRA).
