EXECUTIVE MASTER IN DISASTER RISK AND CRISIS MANAGEMENT

Executive Master in Disaster Risk and Crisis Management (EMDRCM)

The EMDRCM program is the first of its kind in the world to offer leadership and management course to disaster and crisis professionals. This 18-month degree program is intensive, immersive, and practitioner-oriented. It allows practitioners and professionals to balance their careers and the pursuit of higher learning.

The program focuses on:

  • ways disasters and crises are managed in the Asian Region
  • coordinated methods and integrated tools in disaster risk and crisis management

Students are equipped with leadership skills and taught how to assess their organization’s performance, formulate strategies, and make evidence-based decisions. The students are given tools for implementing and measuring interventions and are taught to integrate the multi-sectoral and inter-disciplinary aspects of disaster risk and crisis management.

The program design aligns with the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030, the Sustainable Development Goals 2015-2030, Agenda for Humanity, and the 2015 UN Climate Change Conference Agreement. The EMDRCM program addresses not just the theoretical foundations but also the practical applications of disaster risk and crisis management.
